It all began in central New York state. I grew up on a dairy farm in Pratts Hollow, which is the geographic center of New York state. I got a bachelors degree in Elementary Education at the State University College at Brockport, and a masters degree in Education with a concentration in Reading at the State University College at Cortland.

My first teaching job was in Attica, NY. A couple of years later I moved to Rome, (no not Italy) NY, got married, and worked as a Reading Specialist for a couple of years.

In 1983, the military moved our family to Rhein Main Air Force Base, Germany. I was hired by the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DoDDs) in 1985. I taught Kindergarten, fourth, and fifth grades during my ten years with DoDDs.

One on the best things about the military sending us overseas was the opportunity to travel. When a three day weekend or a holiday was approaching, the talk in the schools' hallways was always about where we were going to spend that time off. Most of our students did lots of traveling also. My all time favorite trip was a cruise to Turkey and the Greek Islands.

When I wrote the first four paragraphs I was teaching fourth grade here in Myrtle Beach. I moved here in 1995 from Germany. Since then I have gone back to school for another masters degree in Education Technology through Lesley University. After teaching for 19 years I finally graduated out of the elementary school to the high school level. I taught Computer Technology classes at North Myrtle Beach High School in the Horry County School District for 6 years. Now I am the Digital Communications teacher at the Academy for the Ars, Science, & Technology in the same school district.

I have two wonderful children. Tony (23) who is our composer, artist, and poet. Be sure to check out his web site to hear his music, view his art work, and read his poetry. Tony is attended the College of Charleston, where he majored in Music: Composition & Theory. Kristen (21) our singer and social butterfly is a working girl and living in Illinois.
